Meet The Founder of INTEGEMS  

Julius D. Mattai

Julius D. Mattai is the visionary behind INTEGEMS bringing over 31 years of experience as a Geo-Scientist. His expertise spans Geology and Mining, Environmental and Natural Resource Management, GIS and Remote Sensing, and more. 

As the Founder and former Managing Director (2011-2019) of INTEGEMS, Julius provided integrated geo-information; geo-scientific; geology and mining; research; monitoring & evaluation; and environmental management services and solutions. He has held significant roles as the Head of Information Management and MIS/GIS Specialist with the United Nations Mission for Ebola Emergency Response (UNMEER) and UNOPS in Liberia as well as the Geodata and Information Manager at the Sierra Leone National Minerals Agency.

Internationally, Julius has worked with AEA Technology plc (UK) as a Principal Consultant leading various GIS and environmental management projects for the EU and the UK Governments. He also served as the Environmental Data Manager for the London Mayor at the Greater London Authority (UK) and held GIS roles with the London Boroughs of Camden and Ealing.  

Holding two master’s degrees in Environmental and Earth resources management and Geology and Exploration for mineral deposits, Julius is highly knowledgeable in his field. His extensive experience has led him to his current role as the Minister of Mines Mineral Resources in Sierra Leone. 

Heads of Department 

Samuella Faulkner: Principal Consultant and Managing Director

Samuella Faulkner is the Managing Director of INTEGEMS, where she oversees daily operations, collaborates team leads and engages with clients and business associates. She also guides the implementation of business processes. 

A certified Chartered Environmentalist (MIEMA/CEnv) of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) UK, Samuella brings over 17 years of experience to her role. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biological Sciences from Fourah Bay College and a Master of Science in Environmental Management and Quality Control from Njala University.

Samuella has a deep understanding of both national and international environmental legislation and policy requirements including IFC Performance Standards, World Bank Environmental and Social Framework and Equator Principles. She holds certificates in GIS Analysis and Photogrammetry, Water Quality Monitoring in Rivers and Lakes, Remote Pilot License (Global Drone Solutions) and more. 

Her vast knowledge and experience in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) permitting/licensing, community relations and stakeholder engagements, project management,  technical proposal, and business development and others makes her an invaluable asset to the environmental management projects undertaken by INTEGEMS.

Samuella has past experience as a network performance analyst working with Millicom (Tigo) between 2007 and 2009, Africell Sierra Leone in 2010 and Airtel Sierra Leone in 2011. She also worked as a data analyst at Ericsson Sierra Leone between 2011-2013. 

Samuella finds her role both exciting and challenging, as it offers opportunities to grow and work with diverse teams from Sierra Leone and abroad, gaining insights from different perspectives. Passionate about empowering young people in STEM education, Samuella dedicates her time to this cause.

Outside of work, you can find her playing tennis or relaxing by watching the ‘Big Bang Theory’ or ‘Seinfeld’.

Prince Kunda Kemoi: Senior Consultant, Head of Geo-Information Management

Prince Kunda Kemoi, with a solid background in Geology, oversees the Geo-Information Management and Environmental and Natural Resource Management team at INTEGEMS. 

Prince has a Bachelor of Science Degree with Honors in Geology from Fourah Bay College and is currently pursuing a Master of Science Degree in Soil and Water Engineering. He possesses profound technical skills in Geographic Information System (GIS) using ESRI products such as ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Desktop, Mobile and Server. 

His expertise extends to  Remote Sensing; Geoscientific Data and Information Management and Environmental Resources Management, including Environmental, Social and Health impact Assessment (ESHIA),  Climate Change and Disaster Management. Prince is also well versed in research, monitoring and evaluation skills. 

In addition to his technical skills, Prince has excellent knowledge and proficiency in various GIS and Remote Sensing Software, Web/Content Management Systems and Database Management Tools. 

Prince’s favorite aspect about working at INTEGEMS is the continual opportunity to learn new skills in every project. He is dedicated to delivering excellent GIS services to clients including developing maps and modeling of geospatial datasets. In his role as a project manager, he supervises colleagues and offers technical support in report writing and data analysis.

Outside of work, Prince is an avid Arsenal fan who tries to never miss a match. He is also committed to furthering his education and aims to acquire a postgraduate certificate in Remote Sensing and Cartography in the near future.

Kenneth V S Koker: Senior Consultant, Head of ICT

Kenneth V.S Koker oversees the technical department of INTEGEMS, bringing extensive experience in software development, geospatial technologies and data analytics. With a passion for innovation and technology, Kenneth holds a  Bachelor of SCience Degree in Oil and Gas Engineering and Petroleum Engineering from St. Petersburg Mining University and a Master of Science Degree in Computer Science with Big Data Analytics from Wrexham University.

He has over six years of experience in Management Information Systems (MIS), Geographic Information System (GIS) and Data Analytics. He has also earned certificates with JavaScripts, JSON and PH125.1x. Kenneth has keen interest in Web and Mobile Application Design and Development, Cloud Infrastructure Management, and Drone Mapping. 

Kenneth plays a crucial role in INTEGEMS’ success by applying his expertise in geo-information technologies. His work helps enhance the company’s output by leveraging technology and environmental expertise to empower clients in addressing socio-economic, environmental, and natural resource management challenges. 

Outside of work, Kenneth enjoys playing his piano. It helps him relax and reinforces his belief that with determination and focus, one can accomplish complex and challenging tasks. 

Ibrahim Aziz Bangura: Consultant, Head of Drone Services and Solutions

Ibrahim is a highly qualified Consultant with over seven years of experience specializing in Drone Mapping, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Remote Sensing, and Management Information Systems (MIS). His expertise extends across multiple disciplines, including Research, Monitoring & Evaluation, Data Management Systems (IMS), and Geology and Mineral Exploration. Ibrahim is recognized for his strong analytical abilities, exceptional organizational skills, and proven leadership in project management, having taken on supervisory roles in various projects.

Since 2019, Ibrahim has been an integral Drone Pilot and Trainer at Sierra Leone Flying, a key member of a global network focused on leveraging drones, data, and AI to promote social good. As the Coordinator, he leads efforts to implement innovative, locally-driven solutions that generate impactful results.

At INTEGEMS, Ibrahim has led numerous drone survey projects, providing customized solutions to clients in fields such as mineral exploration and environmental management. He is proficient in operating advanced drone systems, including multispectral and LiDAR drones, and excels in flight planning and manual operations. His technical expertise allows him to capture and process high-quality data outputs, such as 3D models, Orthophotos, Digital Elevation Models (DEMs), and Digital Surface Models (DSMs), delivering actionable insights critical to client operations.

Ibrahim holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology from Fourah Bay College (FBC), University of Sierra Leone (USL), and is certified as a Remote Pilot with a Remote Pilot Licence (RePL) from the United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority. He is also certified by Global Drone Solutions, recognized by the Australia Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA).

Mohamed Jaward: Consultant, Head of Environment Management

Mohamed Jawad heads the Environment and Natural Management team at INTEGEMS. He has profound skills and technical expertise in Air Quality emission data collection and analysis; Occupational Health assessment, Clean Energy; Natural Resource Management, including Coastal ecology and Geomorphology, Climate Change Mitigation & Adaptation, water quality, Biodiversity, Soils, and environmental acoustics, and Hazard Assessment & Disaster Management.

Mohamed possesses strong analytic skills in SPSS, ODK, GIS, Survey123 for ArcGIS, Collector for ArcGIS, and the World Bank CAPI/CAPWI survey programs; as tools for seamless delivery of Projects; Excellent communication skills in presenting scientific findings and putting together technical and non-technical reports. Outstanding leadership, self-discipline, interpersonal skills, and problem-solving savvy.

During his time at INTEGEMS, he has worked on various environment and natural resources management projects including Vulnerability studies. He has led and developed field protocols, ESHIA’s, study methodologies and standard procedures, and Environmental Management Plans (EMP) for various projects; including; IFC and other financial institutional sponsored Projects, United Nations, the Government of Sierra Leone, and private institutions.

Mohamed is well abreast with Sierra Leone’s Second National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (2017-2026) and global environmental management requirements and standards including the International Finance Corporation (IFC) Performance Standards, the Equator Principles, the World Bank Group Environmental and Social Safety Safeguards, the World Health Organisation (WHO) Guidelines and other relevant national and international protocols and treaties.

Mohamed holds a Bachelor’s degree with Honours in Environmental Management and Quality Control (EMQC) from Njala University. He has completed a series of training and attended seminars and workshops to complement his academic and professional excellence. He recently completed the WBG Environmental and Social Framework – ESF Fundamentals and Managing Environmental and Social Performance training programs
