Orange Sierra Leone has officially launched the 7th edition of the Orange Social Venture Prize (OSVP), a competition aimed at supporting social innovation and encouraging local entrepreneurship. The 15th edition of the competition is also being held across 17 Orange affiliates in Africa and the Middle East.
The OSVP competition, which opens for applications from March 11 to May 18, 2025, seeks to empower entrepreneurs who are developing solutions in key areas such as education, healthcare, e-commerce, and agriculture through digital technology.
Aspiring participants in Sierra Leone are required to submit applications for both the national and international stages via https://poesam.orange.com/en/.
Competition Structure and Prizes
The Orange Social Venture Prize competition consists of two stages, beginning with the National Stage, where applicants will compete for the top spots, with the National Winner receiving NLe 200,000 and the Women’s Winner awarded NLe 120,000 in a pitch competition set for August 2025.
Winners from each country will then advance to the international stage, where a jury will select three finalists, granting cash prizes of €25,000 for first place, €15,000 for second place, and €10,000 for third place, recognizing the most impactful and innovative ventures.
An international women’s prize of €20,000 will also be awarded to a female entrepreneur whose project improves women’s living conditions in areas such as financial inclusion, job creation, and gender equality.
